Noise reduction is very useful Plug-in when it comes to Audio Production. Sometimes while recording a sound whether in a studio or outdoors, the microphone captures an unwanted sound that is noticeable later on while editing or mixing. In some case even applying high or low pass filter won't do the work and that is when noise reduction plug-in comes in handy. Especially in Post-Production, where we sometimes have to record sounds outside or somewhere where it is not always silent.

One of the great plug-ins for noise reduction is iZotope ozone RX that has different versions to remove unwanted noise, for example, denoiser, remove hum, spectral repair, etc. This plugin was recommended by our lecturer Mr.Andrew Ward. I believe that this particular plug-in is very useful for anyone who chooses to work in post-production. Here is one example of a car door open and close sound that was recorded with zoom H5, it had engine sound from another car.
When you add a sound and zoom in, there are few transients that will be a sound of a car door and rest, the thick line is obviously the unwanted background noise from another car. I selected the plug-in denoiser, first select the part where it only has the background noise and click on 'learn' in the denoiser window, that will learn the sound which is to be removed or reduced. When the sound is processed, the sound is more clear and clean from the background noise.
