Trimester 5

This trimester It is going to be more about post-production and in studio, gain knowledge on the final step of music production that is Mastering. Since previous trimester i have really been interested in audio post-production, and now we will get to mix in 5.1 surround sound which gets me excited for my post-production project this trimester.

In last project we had to choose the clip from the projects done by SAE students but this trimester we are able to get the clip from any movies, and i chose a clip from an infamous horror movie ‘The Conjuring’. I have been asked a lot on why i chose this particular movie, and there are many reasons, first this movie has those moments where the focus is more on the sound designing than visuals. Even the director James Wan gave as equal importance to the sound and music score as the visuals. In one of his interviews he mentioned that he wanted to create Horror using sounds and not just visuals. I personally love this movie and the challenge for me will be recreating that horror through sound, and surround mixing will create that realistic environment to give audience a jump scare.
