The group of two chose the scene from the movie ‘The Conjuring’ and the first thing was to get approval from a lecturer Mr.Andy. At first, 4-minute clip from it was not approved, as in horror movies there is more of a silence and nothing was there to work on really, So he told to pick something else where it covers all tasks. The clip was edited later and was all the good scenes from the whole movie were put together. The movie clip included foley sounds, ADR, music score, and spot effects (gun shots).
As soon as the clip got approved it was time to start working on it, according to the plan, The group watched a clip few times, made a list of sounds and sound effects, noted down the dialogues and printed out the script for the voice actors. The work was divided accordingly in term of responsibilities where One is a team leader and in-charge of recording foley, sound effects, editing, mixing and mastering. Other member will handle voice actors, music score, recording and mastering.
Week 4, the group started recording foley sounds, record all the obvious sounds like matchsticks, light switches, footsteps on wooden surfaces, etc., and at the same time, One started gathering sound effects. The clip was not completely music based, there were more of sound effects like rises or stings so the focus was to get foley sounds done as accurate as possible. There are three parts in the movie, the first scene in the basement then a little bit of outdoor and third was in a hall.
