This week we recorded few foley sounds which wasn’t that hard. The first scene starts with the man walking on the street at night, so it was footsteps on the footpath and our studio has wooden floor but luckily we found few bricks already in the live room. sE X1 microphone which has good frequency response was placed in front pointing at foot because the man in clip was walking towards the camera. While recording footsteps one thing to keep in mind is to make sure the sound is not one flat tap, to make it sound more realistic walk on heel and toe. Apart from footsteps we recorded the sound of bird flapping, the keychain, etc.
Our idea was to create the sound using whatever is available in the campus rather than getting and recording the actual things shown in the screen. We recorded and experimented with many different things to get specific sound. During these few sessions we learnt that even the sound of small movement makes tons of difference, although the sound might not be heard while watching any video but it sure is noticeable if missing. The video was not that long and seems really easy, so we will try our best to create each sound that perfectly goes with the clip.
