Logic Pro X vs Pro Tools

There has been many debates among audio engineers about which DAW is best for music production. I think every DAW has its own pros and few set backs, as in one of my previous blogs i discussed about pro tools vs. Ableton live 9 and how both are different from each other, now i would also like to talk about Logic pro x. Instead of reviewing these DAW and tell you which DAW is better, i decided to share few points that I learnt recently about Logic pro and also how it can be different from Pro Tools.
When i got logic pro x it took me sometime to figure out and get used to, this can be small set back specially for new DAW users. I have had logic pro for few months now but it seemed too complicated. Thats why i prefer to stick with Pro Tools, but hey there is nothing bad in learning new things. In class when we learnt more about logic pro it got bit easier. Logic Pro looks just like garage band and to change that all you need to do is enable all advanced tools. You can also change the shortcut keys to your preferences, as i am so used to pro tools i use same preset in logic too.
Both the DAWs are equally great and also similar to each other and also have same functions, Yet I think both are used for different purpose by professionals. Pro Tools is more likely used for music and Post production, recording, mixing, etc. While Logic Pro is more commonly for musicians to write songs, produce jingles, etc.
User Interface
I found user Interface easy to manage in Logic Pro and get around. Sampling is easier than in Pro Tools and there is instrumenting involved. If your first priority is workflow, Logic Pro is best option for writers. Pro Tools on the other hand might need third party applications to be able to perform same as Logic. It might not have as many instruments too, so writers would prefer Logic pro instead.
Post Production
This trimester I have chosen post production and for that my go to option will be Pro tools as it has counter options with separate window for video. Despite the limited stock sounds, Time is most important and limited when it comes to syncing and editing sounds and music to the video. Even if your work is related to video editing, then protools is one of the best DAW for you.
Overall if we see, both the DAWs can be equally great and useful. There is no case of which one is better but rather which DAW can be better for the needs of an engineer or musician considering it. Pro tools is one for you if your work is editing and recording and you can use Logic pro for writing a song.
