Studio Production

This trimester we had to record songs consisting of at least one live drum recording for our final project and it was a group project so we were to split up into group of two or three. I paired up with Shivani as we worked together from trimester one. As soon as the groups were assigned we decided to cover two songs, one with live instruments and one electronic.

The songs we chose to cover are Trouble by Coldplay for the acoustic song and Show me love By Robin Schulz for the electronic song. The studio we decided to record our instruments and vocals is SSL, and according to our planned schedule I was done with identify beats of the song by week 5 and we started with recording the instruments. By week 7 we would be finished with live instrument recordings and drums beats for electronic song, then week 8 we would complete with our electronic song as well. Week 10 we will start mixing and mastering by week 12. The problems we faced and might face is time management which is very important, and we faced this issues in trimester 2 projects. The solution was to start sooner this time and not wait till the end and have more time for our final mix down. For our final presentation of the songs in the final showcase we also have planned to collaborate with graphic design student to make some artwork for our project.
